In a television career spanning more than three decades, Chris has established an enviable record with major broadcasters at home and overseas.
The Paris 2024 Olympic Games will be his 9th summer or winter Olympics. Once again Chris will be helping to lead production teams on highlights being made available to rights holding broadcasters around the world. Since London 2012 Chris has regularly worked with Madrid-based Olympic Broadcasting Services. He has also helped produce content for broadcasters at Youth Olympic Games and several editions of the Paralympic Games. His Olympic projects began with the European Broadcasting Union at the games in Sydney and Athens in 2000 and 2004.
His television career began when freelancing in the late 1980’s at BBC South and also TVS, formerly the ITV franchise in the south of England. Chris moved on to join ITV Meridian based in the Thames Valley from 1993. Reporting, presenting and producing sports news output, alongside a rich mix of regional programming including equestrian events, football, rugby, motorsport and many more.
He was a regular contributor to ITV Sport’s output from Rugby World Cups. In 2003 Chris was the network’s ‘England Reporter’ for the BAFTA winning coverage of England’s triumph in Australia. Four years later he was the host broadcaster’s interviewer for matches played in Edinburgh and Cardiff.
At the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in 2022, Chris again linked up with Host Broadcast Services, having also been on their production team in Moscow in 2018 as well as Rio de Janeiro and Johannesburg in 2014 and 2010. He’d been with ITV Sport at Munich in 2006 and in South Korea in 2002.
Alongside events mentioned here, Chris has also worked with IMG, Progress Productions, ITN, SportFive, Sky Sports, and ITV Meridian. ITN. By consistently delivering highly regarded sports and news output, Chris is still enjoying commissions and interest from across a wide range of sports.
