Chris MaughanAfter more than two decades with ITV, Chris Maughan and Hermitage Media boast an enviable track record which reflects a versatility and ability to operate in many areas of the media.  Combining a strong background in the print media with his experience as an accomplished reporter, producer and presenter in broadcasting, Chris has been able to assist many media organisations and corporate clients with their specific needs.

In the summer of 2012 Chris was based at the International Broadcast Centre at the London Olympics, producing a daily highlights show for Olympic Broadcast Services innovative 3D channel. This followed a hectic period of presenting and reporting assignments for ITV Meridian’s flagship news magazine show ‘Meridian Tonight’.  In 2011, as well as regular production shifts on network football, Chris also spent a month in New Zealand, working at his sixth consecutive Rugby World Cup. In 2003 Chris was ITV Sport’s ‘England Reporter’ for their BAFTA winning coverage of the 2003 Rugby World Cup in Australia, which included live interviews to a global audience with Martin Johnson and Sir Clive Woodward moments after their triumph at the final in Sydney. At the 2007 Rugby World Cup, Chris was the host broadcast interviewer for matches played in Edinburgh and Cardiff.

Chris MaughanIn 2010 Chris was a member of the HBS production team at the International Broadcast Centre in Johannesburg for the FIFA World Cup. Following the event, he assisted SportFive, scripting and voicing the official FIFA  videos of the tournament.  He was a member of the European Broadcast Union’s production team at the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000 and in Athens in 2004. As well as contributing to such international broadcast events, Chris also presented many news and sports shows during 16 years at ITV Meridian in the south of England.

Chris joined ITV’s regional news service TVS in 1988, before switching to Meridian in 1993. His career began at the Newbury Weekly News before spending six years at a leading south of England press agency.
